Flowers are the art, and bullets are the struggle.
We reclaim and amplify our cultural roots through sustainability, art, and rebellion to liberate, heal, and empower our community.
An equitable community that is healthy, empowered, and engaged

Our programs are rooted in the belief that healthy communities are built by the people who call them home. Through education, creativity, environmental stewardship, and leadership development, we invest in our barrio, celebrate our cultura, and create opportunities that strengthen our comunidad for generations to come.

We reconnect our comunidad to healthy food, traditional farming practices, and environmental stewardship through urban agriculture, community gardens, composting, seed saving, and food sovereignty. By restoring our relationship with the land, we cultivate healthier families, resilient neighborhoods, and sustainable futures.

We believe today's youth are tomorrow's community leaders. Through mentorship, education, leadership development, workforce readiness, and community engagement, we empower young people to honor their roots, discover their purpose, and create lasting change for their barrio and beyond.

Art tells the story of our people. Through murals, public art, graphic design, music, storytelling, fashion, and hip-hop culture, we celebrate the voices of our barrio while creating safe spaces where young people can express themselves, preserve cultural identity, and inspire positive change throughout our comunidad.

Environmental justice begins at home. We work alongside residents to transform neighborhoods through water harvesting, native landscaping, sustainable infrastructure, climate resilience, and community-led environmental projects that protect our land, strengthen our comunidad, and create healthier places for future generations.
From transforming the former Julia Keen Elementary School into the 9.5-acre Midtown Farm to leading neighborhood revitalization efforts, Flowers & Bullets continues to build stronger communities through collaboration, education, and environmental justice.
Our work has been recognized by local and national organizations committed to creating healthier, more equitable communities across the Southwest.
Art is more than creative expression. It’s how we preserve our cultura, tell our stories, and strengthen our comunidad. Through the creative voices of local Tucson artists, our barrio, and the Southwest, Flowers & Bullets celebrates the resilience, identity, and traditions that shape who we are.
From murals, graphic design, and custom apparel to hip-hop, music, spoken word, and community storytelling, we create opportunities for young people to discover their voice, develop creative skills, and inspire positive change throughout their neighborhoods.
Hip-hop culture has long been a powerful force for education, resistance, and community building. Through breaking, MCing, graffiti art, DJing, and other creative disciplines, we honor its legacy while empowering the next generation to lead with confidence, creativity, and purpose.
Our approach to sustainability is deeply rooted in tradition and cultural reconnection.
Industrialization disconnected many of us from the land, our food, and our heritage. By embracing practices like gardening, water harvesting, and resource-sharing, we’re restoring self-sufficiency and keeping our traditions alive.
We’re also making sure that communities of color have a voice in the ‘Green’ movement, ensuring no one is left behind as we work toward a healthier, more sustainable future.
Once home to Julia Keen Elementary School, Midtown Farm has been transformed into a vibrant community space for urban agriculture, arts, education, and neighborhood revitalization.
